Big wins of the season were a 27-13 Homecoming Victory over Holy Rosary and a stunning 32- 36 upset victory over previously undefeated Sunflower on their field - the last game of the season. Next year, we will miss the services of our 205 lb hard-charging fullback - Tom Fitzgerald; the dependable quaterbacking of Larry Yaeger and Pat O’Connor; our cap- able offensive center and defensive standout Bill Beiber; the excellent line play of guards: Mike Koz, Jack Darveau, and Harold Sutton; and the effective fine play of our senior end Ronald Klemke. Outstanding wins were over Assumption 48-39 and 38-31; the defeat of Hemingford on their floor 42-35. Our closest victory was a 33-32 win over Sunflower. We are Co-Champi ons of the Western Nebraska D Conference. St. Agnes held its first invitational bas- ketball tournament and fin- ished second. In our Conference meet we won the Team trophy as well as the 880 and mile relay trophies. We finished third behind Spalding Academy and Sidney, St. Patrick's in the Diocesan meet held at Grand Is- land. At the District Meet, Tom Fitzgerald was our leading scorer with 44 points. Kenny Yaeger was a CLOSE second with 43 7 10. Our mile relay team composed of Beal, Beiber, Engelhaupt and Kenny Yaeger - set a new Conference record.
