95' cSt, Tig St. J Cgnes ■ Sctulcnuj ALLIANCE, NEBRASKA CDedh ication We seniors are deeply aware of the willing sacrifices, hard wor and generous cooperation so lovingly given by you, our parents, in order that we might have the advantages of a complete and well' rounded education. Perhaps, we have ta en this for granted, but as our last year at St. Agnes closes in, your part in our progress stands out as a brilliant star illuminating the pathway that our Alma Mater has so definitely pointed out. We hope to give you some compensation by endeavoring to follow that guidance and thus become useful citizens making our comer a little brighter because we had been there and finally enjoying with you a lasting happiness. Now, in fond appreciation we gratefully dedicate this yearbook to you, our beloved parents. Page 2 To Gerald Stewart, '49, and Lorraine Klatka Stewart, '49. To Sister M. The wisdom of life’s late hour,— Loo bac with mirth and decision At the want of my prophetic power. A decade of ‘footprints on the sands of time,' since our class left dear old Saint Agnes. The world has been hard but good to us.” Thus writes JEANNIE STRAETKER, a reporter for the Chi- cago Tribune, after a visit with her classmates. “I found my old chum, MARGARET LINEN- BRINK, a stern and strict teacher, principal of the Valentine High School. Loquacious MARGARET McDONALD, with two daughters, both having red hair, lives near Harrison. Margaret earned her R.N. and has proved a generous heroine in her community. Our own “Blondie, JOAN THOMPSON, is living in Dalton. She is carrying on family tradi- tion with her four children, all blondes. Only three miles from Joan, lives ELEANOR BEYER in a lovely little cottage in which reigns a happy family spirit. Atter completing her nurse’s training in Den- ver and receiving her degree, BETTY McGINLEY earned the title, “Angel of the Battlefields,” by overseas duty. I visited Lieutenant RICHARD SPECK in San Diego, California. The training has made him a stern and commanding officer. TILLIE GARCIA is private secretary to a banker in California. Her persistent struggle dur- ing her high school days with the commercial sub- jects has led to success. PATTY VINTON’S main ambition was real- ized when she took over the management of a ranch near Whitman. JOHN HALLER is in Denver. This time he remained permanently. He operates “Johnny’s Steak House for dining and dancing. He showed us a wonderful time during our stay in Denver. CHARLES HALLER, an Air Force Officer, is training cadets in California. Jake, who has a responsible position in a bank in Omaha, relayed this information to us. Since receiving her Master’s Degree, ANNE TERRY is teaching English and Journalism at the University of Nebraska. MARGARET HEITZ, an Air Hostess, met and married a certain pilot two years ago and is now living in her comfortable home in Salt Lake City. Living near Ashby on an extensive ranch, is GEORGIA DUBRY, a happy wife and mother. I also visited MARY CLARE WETZLER and her family near Fort Collins, Colorado. A successful business man in Alliance is our class humorist. They say STEVE’S success is at- tributed to his friendly smile. JANET EVANS is Superintendent of Nurses at Douglas County Hospital. Quiet, self-sacri- ficing as ever, she is very busy. Another nurse from our class is CAROLYN BRENNAN. During these last years, however, she has given up her profession for music. We often enjoy her in television. Remember DON TSCHACHER? He lives on a large ranch in Idaho and has become quite famous for his rodeo performances. VONNIE KUNZMAN with her old pep and energy, after teaching several years, settled in Alaska. Her husband is a government employee there. After finishing the Creighton School of Dentis- try, RITA AL GODING went into' business in Chicago. I often visit her. I was sorry to miss BRUCE PARSONS when I was in New York—but at the time could not make it to his ministry in Long Island. My tour ended in Wyoming. There in Tor- rington, I visited with KATHRYN McMANA- MAN happily engaged in the life she loved so well—ranching. Another Wyoming classmate, ROSALIE WERTZ, is a trick rider whom rodeo fans admire and enjoy. I wish that I could have seen all the members of the class of '51. Perhaps, I'll have more luck the next time. Until then let us think of one an- other often especially there where thoughts count most. Page 50 JEANNIE STRAETKER, '51 With hearts that are happy and joyous and gay We loo to the future the glad golden day When our own St. Agnes, can point with great pride To all those who love her and call her their guide. Dear old St. Agnes live on and grow We will be faithful wherever we go. Always St. Agnes we’ll be as true To God and to country as we are to you. Page 51 Thank You!
