THE StAg OUR THEME FOR 1950 We HOLD these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights govern- ments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, and may we add, that to secure these rights schools are instituted among Catholics de- riving their just powers likewise, from the consent of the gov- erned. Among these schools we find St. Agnes Academy whose aim is to serve the most precious interests of Catholic Youth by cultivating in them an intelligent appreciation of Catholic- ism and of the traditions of American democracy. Thus, she includes in her curriculum the whole aggregate of human life— the spiritual and moral, the intellectual, the cultural and social, and the physical.
