A true Christian lives a supernatural Amid the cares, joys, and trials of daily living, the Church stands as a beacon of hope. The focal point of religious devotion - the Mass, the divinely efficacious means of grace - the Sacraments, the sacred ritual so wonderfully instructive, the material fabric of the churches with its art and liturgy - all loudly proclaim the transient nature of things temporal, and draw our attention to the duty of making manifest in our mortal flesh the life of Christ that will merit for us the beatific vision. Although we leave school, we go forth confidently knowing that the sacra- mental and devotional treasures of the Church will be ours to use throughout life.

Religion in Daily Life. During the years of its existence, St. Adalbert Parish has given spiritual birth through Baptism to 16,705 souls. The first recorded Baptism is that of Antonina Dembowski by Rev. Victor Zareczny on February 24, 1884. The last record- ed baptismal event is that of Ralph George Schimborski by Rev. Ferdiand Sojka on January 26, 1958. The parish has sanctified the love of man and woman and begged God 's blessing on their wedded life through the sacrament of Matrimony 4257 times in the course of its 75 years of spiritual service. The first marriage recorded is that of Casimir Fifer and Mary Migawa by Rev. Victor Zareczny on April 14, 1884. The marriage of David G. McKenna and Anna May Bartirome by Rev. Ignatius Aranowski on February 8, 1958 is the last recorded. life in Christ. In keeping with a Polish custom, Father Sojka blesses a home during the Christmas season. Father Aranowski holds the interest of those present at Sunday Mass as he delivers an in- spirational sermon. During the weekly novenna to Our Lady of Per- PGYUS-1 Help, the parish priest leads the mem- bers in prayer. Our assistant pastors take part in the proces- sion preceding the crovming of the Blessed Mother. The intercession of St. Blaise is mked by Fa- ther Darkowski as he blesses the throats of the students on February 3.
