we ew af 1949-- sezg.eM4.wwz ani af . . Sister Mary Augustine knew that she was headed for some interesting times when she took over the leads ership of thejunior class. They had reached the prepossessing heights of Third Year but the maturity that had eluded them for two blithe years did not suddenly catch hold. With such widely divergent personalities as Archie and Monica to contend with, she had to apply the wisdom of Solomon and the patience of Job. As an instructor Sister Mary Augustine was exacting, but every junior knew she put everything she had into teaching principles of re- ligion, history, typing, and short- hand. No one would call us a serious group. To typify us with one phrase would be difficult, but wherever a rollicking good time was to be had in or out of school, there we were. The dust on the picture frames recorded daily seismographic dis- turbances as Rose and Paul came through with their ,ready witticisms, or Leo and Gene exercised their slapstick talents. Sweet reminis- censes of our happy junior days will be those insignificant facts, those small incidents, comic or tragic, serious or childish which claim the right to an aching but pleasant nostalgia.
