Coaclds Q DONALD WYATT Competing in athletics is a privilege that only a selected few ever attain. One should therefore feel proud to be a part of any type of athletic program. All ath- letic programs are designed to accomplish many different goals, no one being more important than the other. Athletics should help you to develope socially, emo- tionally, physically and mentally. You develope socially by meeting and compet- ing against many different young adults of your own age. You obtain your emo- tional development by learning to cope with the many different situations that oc- cur during a season. Athletics help you to develop mentally by keeping your body and your mind in good working condition. Being physically healthy is a prerequisite to proper mental development. Last but not least of the goals of athletics is that they are also designed for fun, health, and entertainment. I sincerely hope you have accomplished some of these things from taking part in athletics. If you have, ath- letics has been good for you and you have, been good for athletics. Qmwgy
