Mr, , ' Mr. , ' Mr, , Mr. . . . fi , lI'lclllHCClllDiRH9S Message To you who are graduating, I extend my congratulations, my best wishes, and my appreciation for an association which has been both pleasant and profitable to me. The fact that you have had the opportunity to finish high school is something for you to appreci- ate. The need for finishing high school has never been greater, for there is an increasing number at- tending college, vocational, and technical schools - creating a difficult situation in the economic world for the uneducated, unskilled, and untrained. It would be misleading, however, to cause you to think that merely gaining knowledge and "know-how" would insure a satisfying life, unless they are based on certain other qualities that are not always learned from a textbook. To mention some of these things which I think will help you, I'd say that you need: To have a purpose in life: To be persistentg To be sensible: To use good judgment: To work: To be honestg To respect your fellow many To reverence God: and "To thine ownself be true: And it must follow as the night the day Thou canst not then be false to any man." PEGGY PASCHALL OPLE ROGERS Sr. President Sponsor 9 pomisor' s cessatgce Dear Seniors of '64, Five years is a "mighty long time" to be sponsor of one class. This to me has been not only a privilege but a pleasure. Each of you has come to share a warm spot in my heart. In the years to come, when you have embarked for your journey upon the Sea of Lifeg when you pause at the end of the duties of a busy day and stand gazing over the rail, lost in reveries of the Pastg when the soft winds of reflection stir your sea of memories, among these waves of fond recollections may there be just one little ripple for Your sponsor, History After what seemed like a long summer vacation, 18 freshmen entered Springville High School ready to start the first of four years on the long road of education. We elected Mr. Rogers to be our sponsor. The class officers were: President, Wylie Pearsong Vice President, Mary Conyers, Secretary-Treasurer, Peggy Paschallg Reporter, Elsie Lowe. We ended the year with a trip to Paris Landing. Our next year found us once again climbing the steps of good ole Springville High. Once again Mr. Rogers was chosen to be our sponsor. Our class officers were as follows: President, Ann Wells, Vice President, Mary Conyers, Secretary, Elsie Lowe, Treasurer, Peggy Paschall. As the year came to an end, we went to Memphis with the Juniors on our class trip. As we began our third year as Juniors in Springville High, we found that we had reached the half way point in our quest for a high school education. Mr. Weaks was our sponsor for this year. Then came the time to elect our officers. They were: Ann Wells, Presidentg Mary Conyers, Vice President, Elsie Lowe, Secretary, Peggy Paschall, Treasurer. Once again we went to Memphis with the Seniors on our class trip. As we began this, our fourth and final year, we found that we had finally made it. We are now Seniors looking forward to receiving our diplomas, the final step in our education. With the beginning of the year we began planning our annual and now have our class rings. Our sponsor is Mr. Rogers and our class officers are: Peggy Paschall, Presidentg Elsie Lowe, Vice President, Gail French, Secretary-Treasurer. We regret to say that we have lost six of our classmates since our first year in high school but we are proud of our two new members who have transferred during our Junior year. As the Seniors of 1963-64, we pause in humble appreciation of those who have guided us through the past twelve years. We wish to thank our parents and teachers for all they have done to help us reach the goal we are now attaining. As we leave, we will look back with mixed feelings and fond memories. The Seniors of 1963-64 Last Wild and Testament I, Elsie Lowe, do hereby will and bequeath my messy locker to Peggy Skelton, who has one anyway!
