FOOTBALL We’re 1 ‘cause 2 won’t do! That seemed to be the well-known cheer around the halls of Springville High as our illustrious devil football team burned their way to take the Region 6 championship. We beat every team but one that came up against us. That team was Pleasant Grove. However, it didn’t matter that we lost the game because we had already clinched our Region title the week before when we beat Timpview on their field, 14-7. School spirit was high during the whole football season, and it soared even higher at the expectation of a state title. Although we lost pur first state game, the Davis Darts had to fight hard to ensure their win over us. We were threatening to score down to the last seconds of the game. The studentbody’s spirit attributed greatly to the success the Devil football team had. It didn’t matter whether the game was at home or away. The stands were always packed with Devil fans. In fact, the football field always swarmed with fans at half-time welcoming the team back and giving them encour- agement.
