7 Even as we seek within ourselves and the world, w have come to realize that to understand the world is wiser than to condemn it. To study the world is better than to shun it. To use the world is nobler than to abuse it. To make the world better, lovelier, and happier, is the noblest work of man or woman. The beauty of the world and the awesome completeness of the universe remind us every day that God is omnipotent controlling His creations. It is through faith that we are convinced of the immortality and integrity of the soul of man and the potentiality of the individual to attain perfection. Man's accom- plishments have taught us that he can have a great and noble future—faith assures us of that possibility. Therefore, as we go into the world to try to better ourselves, we remember that we are always in the forge, or on the anvil; by trials, God is shaping us for higher things. We hope to reckon any matter of trial that we may have among our gains. Diane Adams . . . quiet . . . studious . . . liked by ell who know her.
