JOHN T. COX, JR. THE 1960 LU MBERJACK 07 A WIIMYI SPRINGHILL HIGH SPRINGHILL LOUISIANA VOLUME XI FOREWORD Our world is Springhill High School. lt is our job, our eight -hour-day. It is our present prob- lemg our future security. It is a world of learn- ing, and we are happy when we realize that all we learn here does not come from books. The Lamp of Learningis lighted at Springhill High. Throughout our work and play, our sad and happy moments, our successes and failures, it glows steadily, reminding us that we can be proud of the accomplishments of our school. If at times it grows a little dimmer, then it is warning us that a little learning is a dangerous thing. School days are happy days, for most, and fade all too quickly into the dim past. The Lumberjack staff has attempted to record faith- fully what we have learned in 1959 -60. Listen to the lesson of the Lamp. OUR WORLD A EDITOR-IN-CHIEF DOLORES WALKER NM .
