IN MEMORIUM DENNIS J. BRUNTON Two years ago, Trade High School mourned the death of its assistant principal, Dennis J. Brunton He was an exceptonal man, dedicated to his work. He was born in Springfield and remained here all his life. He entered the army to render his serv- ices in World War |. He became a teacher here, at Springfield Trade High School in 1924. After twen- ty-six years of teaching, he was elected assistant principal of the school which also gave him the responsibility of principal and director of Springfield Evening Adult Trade School. He was marshal for many parades and is held responsible for the placement of flags on the graves of deceased veterans. Mr. Brunton spent most of his life doing things for other people. He won recognition for his out- standing service in education and community service. He did much to improve our school, and neither this man nor his works will ever be forgotten. A trophy in his memory is hereby presented to the school. It is engraved as follows: ‘‘In memory of Dennis J. Brunton from the Class of 1967. 12-76 Louise Therrien WILLIAM HILL In the short period during which Billy Hill was a member of our class he made a noteworthy con- tribution to this group. We know that the influence of this young man upon medical science and the people of this area has been due to the work of God, and represents His way of using the greatest of tragedies for the most gocd. As much as we wanted Billy to live, God felt he had suffered greatly and that he had accomplished enough in his short time to be called to a place of peace and rest. Let us not forget the example Billy held for us: the will to live. When you feel that God has left you, try and display the spirit that Billy had and you will find strength. May we all have this faith to endure our des- tiny.
