Dedication to Ronald E. Newsome For a colorful poster, an imaginative display or an unusual illustration, the man to see is Mr. Ronald Newsome. As chairman of the graphic arts department, Mr. Newsome is noted for his talent in all phases of commercial art, as well as his earn- est willingness to cooperate with both students and faculty on any school project. His extensive back- ground in the field of art includes a previous asso- ciation with the United States Rubber Co., the Dia- mond Match Co., free-lance magazine illustration and owning his own advertising business. Mr. New- some has been an active member of the Advertising Club of Springfield, the Printing House Craftsinen and served as vice-president of the Springfield Artists Guild. We salute Mr. Newsome and we are proud to honor him as a member of the Trade High School faculty. Herman E. Drewes Mr. Herman Drewes, a man who has devoted many years to the teaching of mathematics at Trade High School, as well as professional service to the community of Springfield, is retiring this year. Mr. Drewes career has included teaching at Van Sickle Junior High School, the Springfield Evening School and conducting defense classes during World War Il. He has been involved in many community ac- tivities such as the Lions’ Club, the Masons, the Mel- ha Shrine Band and the Springfield Teachers’ Credit Union, where he served as president for a number of years. We extend our thanks to Mr. Drewes for his many years of valuable service and we wish him a long and satisfying retirement on Cape Cod.
