Class Prophecy We declde to go to a play and turn to the theater page Here we read ln Martha Sitler s Hollywood column that Leona Rupert IS starring rn a new movie be1ng produced by her brother Harold We are lucky enough to get tlckets to the new comedy dxrected by Paul Charmga and starring the sensational new comedlan R1chard Hostetter We glance over the program and notice that Joann Kennedy has deslgned the costumes and Mary Blllock the sets for thls play After the play we decide to v1s1t the new night club whose chef Otto Heberlmg IS al ready famous for his superb dishes Dick Grlm the owner greets us and shows us to a rmgsxde table Chuck Smlth s natlonally known orchestra is playing here tozught and Dick Gates famous trumpet player is making a guest appearance w1th Chuck s orchestra After Dick s number the renowned dance team of Louise Balogh and Bob Warner glide onto the floor and do the intricate steps of thelr new dance After the floor show we look around us and see why It s Lo1s Eckman rich widow who IS about to be married for the fifth trme And over there m the corner reading his news paper, is Kenneth McMurray, famous news commentator and expert on foreign affairs. The crowd begins to murmur, and heads turn toward the door. We look too, and see that two of New York's most eligible bachelors have just entered. They are Fred Knox, famous foot ball coach, and Don Tarka, international playboy, who has just returned from Europe. But, you ask, what ever happened to our class sponsor, Mr. Koons'7 Most classes leave their sponsors a trifle haggard and gray, but did we? Well, yes! Class Prophecy One morning in 1960 we declded to run mto New York ln our atomlc powered automobxle to do some shoppmg After parkmg the car we start down the street when Oh that b1g black hmousme almost hlt us As It stops for a red light we see lnslde Don Goss polxtzcal boss of New York Cnty and Caryl Hammer Don s candldate for mayor After thls dangerous encounter we enter Saks F1fth Avenue now managed by jane Brownlee and go to the Credit Off1ce to pay our ball Here we fmd Lourme Henry who has fulfilled her ambltxon to become a bookkeeper Lourme tells us that she as work1ng with Phyllxs Mercer who IS head accountant at Saks As we go down the escalators we see a fashxon show ln progress and stop to watch We recognize Dolores Bryan as one of the girls modellng French creations recently purchased by Dorothy Klaus head buyer of oaks of the new fashlon magazme Madame glves us a copy of It As we glance at the title page we see that nt IS edited by Norma Mlncher Thxs xssue features an article by the Paras correspondent Shirley W1thers Leafmg through the magazme we see an ad featur mg exclusxve mxllmery desxgned by Lozs Wmlson and Charllne Brlckner As we leave the store we see a glittering new beauty salon wh1ch IS owned and managed by Betty M1halcak and Frances Franko Hearmg a newsboy shoutmg exc1ted1y we buy a paper from hlm and see that xt is published by Ralph Bailey who heads a cham of news papers which rivals the Scrxpps Howard Syndicate Huge headlmes announce that Bob Mrkesell daring avxator has at last succeeded in reaching the moon As we look mslde w see two fam1l1ar names those of Rosetta Foster and Mary Lou Mam who wr1te a widely publxshed home making column On the same page we notice W1n1fred Balsler s column whxch has succeeded that of Dorothy Dax Another article announces that Edgar Guterba and Bob Felger have taken flrst prxze at the National Agrxcultural Exposztxon w1th thexr new breed of cattle Charles Barth received high honors for his experiments wzth potatoes 18 p ue ' .
