JLNlOH PLAY On Marci 20 1953 we as Juniors presented tho one act plays NThe white Lawn,U a drama, and Uhncle Bob's Bride U a comedy Mr Ronald Somerville directed the plays and the followlne were members O t e CdSi Pat Danals Fred Brantlneram Dorothy Fullager Audrey Buchanan Sue V l by, N omi Downs Margaret Gettlns Jane Leonard Barbara Funston Ruth Cotter Donna Beer and Davis Gordon SFNIOR PLAY On October 27 1954 we presented the first three act pl y ever given at this school It was a com dy ertltled HTaKe Three Girlsu Mrs Vivian Mei directed the play and the following wer members OI the cast Audrey Buchanan Sue Mal by Naomi Downs, Fred Brant lngham Pat Danals Dorothy Fullager, Margaret G6tI1US Putn Cotter Jean arhart Donna Beer, Barbara FUHSTOU and Eugene Funston Original First Grade Back Row Pat Danals, Fred Brantlngham, Paul Ludwig, Kenneth Terman Phillip Perry Burton Wentz Middle Row Tara Jo Taylor kaoml Downs, Phyllis Henry Mrs Taylor, Carol Burger, Ann Hartzler, Frances Mowry Front Row Audrey Buchanan, Ruth Cotter, Donna Beer, Nancy Danals Barbara Funston Dorothy Fullager CLASS HI:TORY As the fall of 1942 rolled around forty live new faces appeared at the door of Springfield Local School Of Mrs Taylor's original class nineteen will be gradu ating in May They are Donna Beer, Fred Brantingham, Audrey Buchanan, Carol Burger Ruth Ann Cotter, Dean Crawford Nancy Danals Pat Danals Naomi Downs, Dor othy Fullager Barbara Funston Ann Hartzler, Phyllis Henry Paul Ludwig, Frances Mowry, Phillip Perry Tara Jo Taylor, Kenneth Terman, and Burton Wentz That year went fast for us and we were beginning to think we knew all there was to know but this idea soon left us when we reached the second grade Eugene Funston Joined us in the second grade Dave Gordon and Virginia Krupp third grade and Bill MehL Margaret Gettins and Jean Earhart, fourth grade During the fifth grade Sue Malaby and Betty Farst were added to the enrollment along with a new teacher Mr Atkins, who had returned from the Navy The next year we ascended to the third floor with quivering legs We were so busy getting settled we d1dn't have time to add to our enrollment In the fall of 1950, twenty two girls and twenty one boys became Freshmen We were as the upper class men say Ha little greenn but we soon overcame all obstacles through the leadership of our class officers and advisor, Mr Breinich The teachers were not startled by our brillanoy but none were willing to g ve us up as Ha hopeless case N The next year Just flew by and then we were Juniors' One of the most enjoyable social events of this year was our Junior Senior Reception with the theme Stardust, one we'll never forget Many days and sleepless nights were spent in preparation of this event but it was never regretted We also presented two one act plays entitled, 'The White Lawnn, and Uncle Bob's Bride we gradually took on the dignity which custom says Seniors should display before the under classmen of the High School This year we presented the first three act play entitled nTake Three Girls' which turn ed out to be a great Success' May we greatly benefit by the earnest teaching of our teachers and practice the worth while things in life that we have learned through the years at Spring field Local School
