What was this then? The room aa fuller than it had been Not more but larger they seemed to be, Important people as I could see An artist busily sketched away Where my little Susie sat each day A judge where Billy always sat, A bishop in the place of restless Pat A noise outside, the dream was gone The room was empty and I alone But as I left when I closed the door I turned to look at the room once more Tris room, these desks, these walls of blue Are a place to make these dreams come true A place that shelters talents rare, And to nurture them must be my care No more I'll scold at little Sue Because she drew and drew and drew! I'll judge Billy justly because, you see, when B1lly's a man, he may judge me And restless Pat, in the hands of fate, May become a bishop, quiet and sedate.
