The pupil must learn to finger and manipulate the in etrumenu with both hands as he is blowing, C25 The pupil must be able to read the musical notes which improves his note training, C31 The pupil must learn to coordinate reading, fingering and blowing at the same time which is a similar process to the actual playing of band and orchestra sized instruments in the later grades and high school This year a grade band has been started for the an enrollment of 10 players first time with course, the number should be 4 or 5 times that many players, but at least it is a start We also have a grade string quartet, all of ap- proximate ability We salute Shirley Au, Janet Bogner violins, Judy Malaby, viola and Carlton Betts, cello 51 Eli-QU-H Mclntire, Mowry, Pitman, Gordon, D.
