SEMUIEURE SCHOLARSHIP Points for scholarship awards are based on the final grade in a subject Only four subjects are counted lr one year while subjects carried only half a year earn half the points from that grade A's re celve fifteen points, B's ten and C's five points minus subtracts two points and a plus adds two points extra points are given for activities such as orches tra and glee club Also school citizenship credit of ive points may be voted by the faculty Seniors who participate ln the county scholarship contest are awarded the number of points equal to their rank 1 the county subtracted from twenty five Each year the two seniors ranking highest in the class are chosen valedictorian and salutatorisn This ear these two were Donna Closson, valedictorian and elson Price, salutatorian David Tinkey ranked tenth in the Richland County annual scholarship tests Time is still 'marching on and another senior class is nearing graduation The class of 1951 is going out into a world of turmoil and as each of us goes our separate ways our paths may never meet again This is one reason for printlng 'The Echo ' This is a record of the joys and sorrows, laughter and tears, and friends and foes we have enyoyed throughout our school years This annual is probably not the best na'the worst but regardless, we have all worked hard to make the best we could To Mrs Casad, we wish to express our deep appreciation for her kindness and directions We also wish to thank Mr DeVito, who took the pictures, and all those who gave us advertisements Editor-in chief Editor-ln-chief. SENHHRE PROPHECY After many hard years of study in the art of tertainment, Bob Frey secured a job as understudy Lou Costello Sylvia Warne landed a job singing commercials on Lass1e's Dog Show when she finished studying dra matic singing After completing her nurses' training, Carol enberg got a position in a doll hospital Janis Dent Miller is in Ontario visiting her in laws with fourteen of her children The three sets of twins are home with Richard Nelson Price is now running the K1dd1e's Air planes at Cedar Point Carl Duffner tried and tried to make the New Yon. Knlckerbocker team, he now leads the Ontario Barn Ball League with 150 points The famed artist, Reggy Roberts, is now drawing signs for Hadacol When Rex Beer landed the top Job as a mattress tester, he finally realized his ambition to take life easy Ronald Leathers is now understudy for Bob Hope Bon is trying to learn some Jokes so he can go on his own The new dletitlon, who mixes the dog food,a the Ken L Ration factory is JoAnn Jacobs Harold Hastings was not injured although the wheel came off his car when he was going lOl m From now on though Harold has decided to walk Mary Ann Clever is still complaining about her height It seems she ls teaching a first grade and Pauline M wry, an airline hostess,1s working for Nelson Price ae Cedar Point Thomas Parsons wanted to be the Kentucky Wildcats manager, but because they w0uldn't take him he is now the Ontario Barn Ball league manager When Bill West got tired of trying to knock down bowling pins, he decided to put up pins so now he's pin up' o Thelma Ridenour s wish of coaching a boys ball team came true She is now coaching five bovs of her own Elaine Beymer tried and tried to get a good job She couldn't make the grade and is now ln politics Donna Musick learned to drive a car and is now teaching the student driving course at S H 5 Since David Tlnkey has become county engineer Hillsboro Road has been made a six lane highway ends at his house At the age of 65, Birdie Fulmer, women s amateur figure skating champ is representing the United states in the Olympics uBody Slam MacCartney' is now recuperatl g the hospital after her match with Mae Weston She was injured after Mae got a 'hammer lock' on her Donna Closson Musick has at last reached her am bition to teach art She is instructing her own little tots at home The Ontario Fire De artment has not been going very smoothly since Bob alley Joined it Every time there is a fire Bob is never ready to leave There fore the building ls usually half burned down by the time the fire truck gets there Bob Dailey has been working in a Junkyard lately The reason ls J keep his car company 'An Apple for the Teacher SENIOR PLAYS On November 10, 1950 the Senior class plays were held The high school orchestra played before the plays started, and the Junior Boys' Quartet sang be tween the plays the cast for 'An Apple For The Teacher' was rhelma Ridenour Nelson Price Donna Closson, Elaine Beymer,Carol Dalenberg, Joan kacobs Harold Hastin s, Elwood Orewiler, Donna Musick, Jean MacCartney, ob Frey, Bob Dailey, Birdie Fulmer, and Sylvia Warne 'Mystery Of The Locked Room' included Mary Ann Clever, Carl Duffner Ronald Leathers, Janis Dent, Pauline Mowry,Sy1v1s Darne,Rex Beer, and Tom Parsons Mr Daniel directed the plays Joan Jac0bs,Jan1!
