They are taught the necessary require- ments of a good speech, in- cluding gestures, the right voice levels, and the pitches that make listening a pleasure. Durward Whitt, B.A. Industrial Arts John Wliittington, B.S. Industrial Arts Students Learn Trades in Industrial Arts There is always a need for men trained in the mechanical and technical trades. The in- dustrial arts' teachers are training these men to fulfill this demand. Subjects offered are: draft- ing, printing, sheet-metal, auto mechanics, carpentry, wood- shop, machine shop, and power mechanics. 'X ' ,- L Bobby Smith and Tom Jenkins are assembling a small engine in auto mechanics class Mike McClure makes the sparks fly as he works with a grinder in machine shop.

Mr. Huffman shows Nataline Settles the fundamentals of acting. Richard Huffman, B.A., B.S Dramatic Arts English Dramatic Arts Introduces Students to Theater ,lust about everything con- cerning the theater is taught in dramatic arts class. Stu- dents learn the essentials of becoming actors, working with props and lights, painting scenery, and interpreting their parts. Students in this class soon realize that there is more to presenting a play than just ulights, camera, action. Mr. Huffman's class has a group discussion concerning drama.
