June 6, 1968, was truly a time of mixed emotions. The graduating senior feels a sense of excitement about the future, and expresses remorse after his last year in high school. Thi yearis 606 students graduated from Springfield South are typ- ical of other high schools in that they felt both a sense of elation and sorrow. Nick Lubbers, Francis Handling, Connie Bennett, Delores Handling, and Dennis Wrig appear relaxed belore their commencement exercises. Henrietta Edwards gratefully accepts her diploma from Mrs. Levine, vice-president of the Springfield Board of Education. . -.al s Night banquet honoring the class of '68. Class Night, the last social event for the class of ,68, was held on May 6. The seniors were honored with a ban- quet and a program in which many awards were presented. Altogether there were 63 honors dis- tributed among 49 seniors. A total of 358,000 in grants and scholarships was announced. The high spot of the evening was the balloting of class favorites in a variety of categories.
