Neysa Stephens returns the volleyball in hopes of getting the game point. The members of G.A.A. not only enjoy the fun of participating in sports but also gain new friendships and good sportsmanship. Good physical and mental health are promoted, and leadership and spirit are thrown in for good measure. In G.A.A. a girl learns to be with everyone, not just of her own class, but with sophomores, juniors and seniors. Since G.A.A. is the only activity in which a girl can win a letter, the three years are used to earn a minimum of 125 points and the letter. lf the senior gains 25 additional points, she is awarded her numerals. The senior girl with the highest accumu- lation of points is awarded a silver tray. G.A.A. is to girls as the interscholastic sports, such as basket- ball and football, are to boys. This is the only sports program open to girls at South. Mary Edwards is on her mark , as she participates in G.A.A. track. Ji V ,X
