John fRobert Pattoni tries to prove to Lisa QLinda Gattenj that she also has a last name. The cast of the senior class play illustrates the unusual setting and lighting used in David and Lisa. Senior Class Presents David and Lisa The Senior Class of South High School presented David and Lisa on March 22 and 29. The play was ex- ecuted with many unorthodox but fascinating means of setting and light- ing. David and Lisa deals mainly with two of the students at the Berkley School for the mentally ill, David Clemens and Lisa Brant. David fears that if anyone touches him he will die. The reason for David7s psychosis is his disappointment in his parents. Lisa's problem stems from the fact that she is unwilling to accept that she is an orphan. The play shows how David and Lisais growing affection for each other helps them to solve their prob- lems. Amid the turbulent emotion of the play, the classmates of David and Lisa provide humor as well as some insight into their own personal problems. Each student and teacher at Berkley gives some new dimension to the problems of the mentally ill. I39
