T I C Sam Heinzen, a well achieved gymnast at North High School, who has done well above the average student. He has practiced gymnastics since he was seven, and scored high amongst the judges since his freshman year. When Sam began gymnastics he was coached by the late Jim Smith. He spent seven years with Jim before going to the Columbus Gymnastics Academy where he is currently training. Sam competes in all six of the men ' s Olympic events which are: Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Long Horse Vault, Parallel Bars, High Bar. Dennis Mclntyre, Sam ' s present coach, has led him to compete in the State High School competition all four of his competing years. He placed first in Long Horse Vault, second on Floor Exercise, second on Parallel Bars, and placed seventh all-around his junior year. In his senior year he defended his title on Long Horse Vault, won Floor Exercise, placed second on Parallel Bars, third on High Bar, and finished seventh all-around. Through Sam ' s hard work and consistent effort he is now choosing the college he will attend. He will be able to take a little piece of North High School with him and still always know that the class of 1988 will support him. GOOD LUCK ALWAYS. GO SAMMY!!

John Kuss, Andy Long. Larry Ray, Hakim Islam This past season was the best : we ' ve had at rSorth High school. It was made possible by the excellent coach- ing staff we had. Coach Mark Stoll and brother Doug put in an enormous amount of time in order for us to per- fect our skills. They helped us each day and taught us to win ahd have fun. We finished the season with 15 wins. We played well together and went through some bad days together. Most of the games. We learned to shake off the losses and to start each game fresh. The Morth Baseball Program has changed dramatically during my four years tenure. The first year we got trashed several times. Through hard work and dedication by both players and the coaches Morth Baseball is once again greatly respected. It wasn ' t easy but our hard work paid off. I ' ll never forget the 1988 Panther team. We had several different types of personalities but we blended together on the field and worked excellent to- gether. The Softball team at Morth High had a much improved season in 1988. Their re- cord was raised to 6 wins 10 losses, with 4 of the wins in the tough Western Ohio League. The team had much talent this year and expects to return all but 4 seniors next year. This season ' s MVP was Shelly Leonard and The Captain was named Rae Ridder, both juniors.
