Homecoming 1987 This Homecoming was different from all others for me. This year I was in charge of it. I had to make sure everything was done and done on time. Without the help of so many students and teachers, Homecoming wouldn ' t have been the reality it was. After putting in all the hard work it paid off. Nineteen clubs participated. Each had a float and candidate, who was introduced at the football game Friday night of Homecoming. This year we built a maze for the floats and candidates to sit in. After decorating all day Saturday, the big night finally came. Almost 450 students showed up along with some faculty members. The Bob Gray Orchestra played and at 11:00 the Queen was to be announced. Our M.C., Mr. Manoloff, announced the seventeen second runner-ups, and each received a crown. Then Julie Comerford was announced the first runner-up. I was Queen! I was crowned by Mrs. Lazear, our advisor, and Kristi Knight. In my four years at North that was the most exciting and best thing that has happened to me. — Melinda Wallace Homecoming Dance ' 87 A night of amazement in Hollywood I can ' t believe I made it; I ' m so happy Melinda Wallace dances Danny Hixon.
