With Every Step You Take The North High Cross Country teams sprinted their way to a great 83-84 season with the help of Coach Ron Monroe and cross country alum- ni, Jeff Steinmetz. Team moral and spirit ran high as the Panthers raced through meets and invitationals finishing as a top team. This year was also the first year the entire girls team, led by sophomore Grahm Ulvestad and seniors. Siobhan Houston and Julie Evancho. Shelley Steinmetz. made it to the Districts. Overall, the boys team ran circles around opposing teams. Sophomore Mark Neff was the Lone Runner at Districts for the boys team. North High has continuously had good Cross-Country teams which we should be proud of. . 5i Shelly steinmetz

FOOTBRLL The Panther football players showed us each week that winning isn ' t everything, by their ability to take a licking and keep on ticking. The Panthers, led by senior captains; Joe Boeke, Andy Brougher, Barney Channels, Tim Johnson, Todd Roberts and Sean Sanders, made impressive shows against Tecumseh, Fairborn and Stebbins, proving there is hope for the future. When the 1983 season came to an end, many people received highly coveted awards; Joe Boeke, defensive MVP, Sean Sanders — Offensive MVP, Todd Roberts — Most improved. Ralph Stanely, a sophomore, was all league linebacker. All league honorable mention went to Joe Boeke, Mark Hicks, Harlie Ray, Todd Roberts, and Sean Sanders. Joe Boeke was the only one to make the All County Team. There is always next year for the Panthers, and with their fine young talent. North will soon improve their 0-30 record.
