School Bells Summon F.T.A Future Teachers ' Officers Cindy Cooke, Vice-president; Kathy Bunish, Treasurer; Kathy Camp- bell, President; Vivian Cox, Secretary; and Valerie Tarlton, Historian. For the first time in the history of North ' s F.T.A. chapter, a scholarship was offered. Cindy Cooke re- ceived the fifty-dollar award that was financed by F.T.A. members selling stationery and basketball programs and working in the coatcheck. The year ' s program in- cluded visitations to area schools and guest speakers from such varied positions as administrator, student teacher, special education instructor, and kindergarten teacher. The annual May election banquet ended the 1971 season. Future Teachers of America FIRST ROW: Debbie Dunlap, Anita Cooke, Lori Miller, Gail Scott, Becky Morrison, Kathy Campbell, and Cindy Cooke. Future Business Leaders draws its membership from those students enrolled in business courses. Because the club is affiliated with the state and national associa- tions, members may partici- pate in state-wide business tests. This year the Future Business Leaders traveled to Fairmont East where they competed with other schools in several categories of busi- ness. Bill Michael ' s third place in the accounting test enabled him to participate on the national level, which makes this year one of the most successful ever. Bandages Are In Their Futures Education, service, and fun summarized 1971 for the Future Medical Leaders. On a field trip, they toured the new facilities at Mercy Medical Center. Throughout the year they assisted Mrs. Groves in the clinic. By selling candy bars, they earned the one hundred dollar scholar- ship that was awarded to Nancy Crabtree. A formal dinner at Christmas and a spring picnic were fun times for F.M.L.
