Jkdhtfhl gjhpand May 24 1971 Havlng heard that one of our former class mates IERRY GRIESINGER now the top come d1an of HGWG11 was conductlng a show 1n Honolulu we left the States to attend We boarded the yacht HOLLAND owned by BEN DENNIS We engaged a state room and much to our surpr1se the cab1n boy was MELVIN MYERS That evemng the captam 1nv1ted us to dlnner The captaln was none other than VERTAL SCOTT who had h1s sea legs whrle st1ll IH school After dtnner entertatnment was prov1ded by the dancxng twtns BERNEICE and BERNETTA FAGER followed by Houd1n1 KRETZ the famous mag1c1an and h1s beaut1ful ass1stant CARMEN SACK The next momtng s1tt1ng ln our deck chaxrs we not1ced the famous model SHIRLEY SHRINER w1th her play boy f1ancee ED HOUCK who IS also a senator of renown At lunch we xwere served by the stewardess DORIS HAYES who was really very wealthy and Just on the crulse for the fun of 1t As our boat was docktng we not1ced a group of natxve workers unloadtng bananas the over seer bemg SAMPSON GRINER As we landed on the beach we not1ced TOM FATS HAUPRICHT recl1n1ng under a palm tree sur rounded by twenty Hawauan QIIIS ln grass skrrts dancing around htm The leader of the group was RITA POLING Drlvtng down the ma1n street to our room IH the Butler Hotel owned by IANET BUTLER we not1ced a newsboy IIM SCHMIDT sellrng cop 1es of the Pollock Ioumal owned and ed1t d by DICK POLLOCK In our hotel the room clerk turned out to be FLOYD CROW who rang for a bellboy Who should appear but DON GREGG Walkxng through the lounge we not1ced two well dressed gtrls s1tt1ng around As we approached them they were tallang as usual Of course they were MARGARET HOPKINS GLORIA DE FILIPPO and none other than TOM BETTINGER world heavywe1ght boxlng champ1on After a good mght s sleep we dec1ded to h1t the h1gh spots of Honolulu We went to the Blckford resort CBOB IS also sponsor of the MISS Hawa11 contest of Wh1Ch SHARON METZ GER was the last WIHHGII Rest1ng on the beach there we spotted a yacht owned by SHIRLEY GIBSON who had marrxed the great football and basketball coach DAVE MARTIN now at Holland w1th four stra1ght undefeated unt1ed seasons ln football and one tn basketball At lunch served by a very str1k1ng waltress by the name of MARY KROHN we saw two women vlgorously argumg about who was the best housewlfe The women were NANCIE DONNELLY Know Eppardl and DOLORES BUR ZYNSKI fnow Malczewskll who had run down also to see Ierrys show Watchlng the argu ment Wllh grow1ng concern was MARILYNN GUNN marrled to Fred Hott who had Just made a m1ll1on by w1nn1ng the Kentucky Derby They also own sugar plantatlons Mar1lynn told us that ARLENE KATAFIASZ and her hus band who had won many utterbug contests were known the world over and that IO ANN BRIDGES and LADONNA BURGIN are playmg the1r clar1nets 1n an all-g1rl orchestra whtch we would hear later IH the evemng After lunch we went to the Internatlonal Swlmmmg Meets DOROTHY IOHNOFF and 1n the crowd rushlng to congratulate her we saw her f1ancee GUY WILLIS who owns cha1n drug stores all over the world Also we noticed IH the crowd ELMA IEAN DEMEREST who was voted Mlss Secretary of 1970 From sxgns posted all over the c1ty we learned that the Hawauan Globetrotters were playmg at the local sports arena under the excellent coachmg of HERB BROWN In the press box we saw IOYCE MILLER the d1rt gatherer of Hawa11 and stopped to talk w1th her She told us that SHIRLEY BROWN and HELEN ZINSER were hot rod dr1vers BETTY PFAFF and PAT WHITE SCHNEIDER were runnlng a cl1n1c for dateless gtrls IANET SWONGER and ROSE MARIE HUGHES owned restaurants all over the world and that ADELINE TIMPE and LILLIAN SCHUETTE were seamstresses for the famous movle star CHARLOTTE HECKMAN Tomorrow we shall spend a qu1et day and 1n the evenlng attend the show Id llke to know 1f we knew anyone else 1n the cast of the show besldes Ierry Oh here s our sample program but there must be a m1spr1nt for here lt says LEAH STAIR Lady Sword Swallower Oh well strange th1ngs have happened tn the last twenty years I wonder what the next twenty w1ll br1ng'?
