The Varsity H club started its organization this year with many hardships left over from last year, but, as the year progressed, it got back on its feet and did a great deal to promote athletics. Under the direction of Mr. Barnes, the Varsity H has organized a booster club for the benefit of the football team. Many interested persons and prominent business men joined this club by gen- erously contributing to this fund. The money was used to buy football equipment. Mrs. Frank Wagemann baked a cake in the shape of a lamb with white wool Ccocoanutl and gave it to the boys for a cake raffle. Larry Talbert was the lucky winner. Alternating every week throughout the year, the club in co-operation with the G.A.A. has spon- sored noon programs consisting of dances and shows. The following officers were elected at the first meeting: President, Sam Scottg Vice President, Len Bucher: Secretary, Tom Kigerg Treasurer, Don Dickersong Reporter, Russ Bannister, Ser- geant-at-Arms, William Urban. The initiation party was held in November after the last football game. The following were initi- ated: Don Kaiser, Lowell Dennis, Charles Inder- rieden, Don Woods. Bob Haupricht, Jim Johnoff, Paul Mohr, Lewis Cramer, Don Adamski, Bob Phelps, Perry Hall, Bob Kolasinski. Ben Atherton, Archie Hughes, Roy Tibbits. This year at the annual Athletic Banquet each Senior was awarded a varsity H key and a bali charm symbolizing the sport in which their letter was awarded. Don Kaiser, Tom Kiger, Don Kul- wicki, Sam Scott, Russ Bannister, and Ray Au- gustyniak, received Var- sity H keys and football charmsg Bob Kolasinki received a Varsity H key and baseball charm: Lowell Dennis received a Varsity H key and basketball charm: and Charles Inderrieden re- ceived a Varsity H key. Tom Kiger was awarde 1 the William A. Fulghum trophy as the outstanding athlete of the year. Louis Noe was the last year's winner, and both names will be engraved on the trophy which is on dis- play in the lower hall of the High School Building.
