Baseball SEATED: Harold Cramer, Ray Smalley, Ray Augustyniak, Dlck Mohr, Don Kulwickl, Ioe Iohnoff, Frank Gozdowski, Don Woods. STANDING: Bob Dickerson, Charles Bracken, Bob Irwin, Bob Kolasinski, Mr. Fulghum, Ralph Szymanowski, George Kent, Paul Cairl, Iohn Miller, Dannie Chinnis. ABSENT: Virgil Mosiniak, Frank Szurminski, Iohn Mosiniak, Earl Cain. The baseball team of 1945 started its season by losing a heart-breaking game to Macomber by the score of 2 to O. From then on the team went on to win six games without a loss. The next game was with Monclova, and behind the no-hit pitching of Earl Cain, Holland won another game. Our next game with Clay was won by a one-run margin. The following week Holland played their last two games of the regular season and the team came through again by beating Monclova and winning over Ottawa Hills. The baseball season of 1945 ended when Holland lost out in the first game of the Tournament which was held at Swayne Field. As most of the boys played varsity ball for their first time and will again be on the team in 1946, Holland should have a championship team.
