Seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students are elected to membership and the tenth grade students re- main as members until elected as senior honor members. New members are elected by the teachers on the basis of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, and Character. This means that the leaders of the classes are selected as new members each year. In 1945-46 about twenty new members were inducted into this society. Membership certific- ates and cards were purchased by the club for both old and new members and many of the new members purchased the society emblem- a pin in the shape of a torch, The society sponsored a hayride in'September and a movie, HoW Green Was My Valley , was presented in February. A very successful year was closed in May with the election of officers for the coming year.
