THIRD ROW: Louis Noe, Virqil Prala, Robert Irwin, Daniel Chinnis, Paul Cairl, Donald Bridges, Georqe Kent. The National Honor Society consists of stud- ents with the highest points in Leadership, Char- acter, Scholarship, and Service. The officers of this organization are: President, Robert Irwin, Vice President, Rita Nowowieiskig Secretary, Charlotte Gibson, Treasurer, loAnn Campbell, Reporter, Lela Cherry. The Society had a dance, a hayride, and a picnic. We had a very profitable year under the supervision of Mrs. Logan, who by her patience and willingness to give up so much of her time to the society, contributed greatly to its success.

The Town Tattler published eight issues dur- ing the school year. The first seven issues were published by a staff selected from the Senior class, and the last issues by a staff selected from the Iunior class. The paper is financed by ad- vertising and sales. During the last two years, the Tattler fund was increased enough to pur- chase a new mimeograph. L oretta Dennis The National Iunior Honor Society was begun originally for junior high school pupils. Seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students are elected to membership and the tenth grade students re- main as members until elected as senior honor members. New members are elected by the teachers on the basis of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, and Character. This means that the leaders of the classes are selected as new members each year. In 1945-46 about twenty new members were inducted into this society. Membership certific- ates and cards were purchased by the club for both old and new members and many of the new members purchased the society emblem- a pin in the shape of a torch, The society sponsored a hayride in'September and a movie, HoW Green Was My Valley , was presented in February. A very successful year was closed in May with the election of officers for the coming year.
