B. I. Bishop, B.S., M.A. Supervisor Springfield Local Schools This year marks the completion of Mr. Bishop's fourth year as Supervisor of Springfield Local Schools and his twenty- fifth year in the field of education. From his wide experience with the problems facing youth and his understanding inter- est in promoting the growth of the individ- ual, he regularly counsels with the mem- bers of the graduating class, to aid them in choosing their life work or further schooling. This year the school system exceeded the one thousand mark in enrollment, and the present buildings became inadequate. Under his direction, a campaign for a pro- posed building program was successfully culminated with the passage of a bond issue in the amount of Sl90,000. Three new school building additions will be provided at the present Crissey, Dorr Street, and Holland elementary schools. Mr. Bishop's life is dedicated to the task of securing for every boy and girl the opportunity of receiving equally, a good educational foundation, Harold E. Ryder. B.S., M.S.. M.A. Superintendent Lucas County Schools Mr. Ryder is completing his sixth year as Superintendent of the Lucas County Schools. Besides supervising all the schools in the county, he helps in solving many complex problems of state and na- tional importance. He is a past president of the National County Superintendents' Association, a member of Ohio Reading Circle Board, and actively participates in many other educational and civic organi- zations. His thorough understanding of school problems has enabled him to ele- vate the schools of Lucas County to a high place in the Ohio public school system.
