P' oe cv Now lets take a visit with the URock 'n Roll Twinsntothe musicdepart ment and find out what the band has accomplished in the last year This has been a very successful season for the band The marching band was led byfour snaPPYbaton majorettes, Mary Pat Paulson, Karen Martin, Jean Poelstra, and Jill Wepking Major performances were given during nDakota Day held at Vermillion and at the 'Founders Day' parade at Springfield The concert band under the able direction of Mr. Alan C. Paulsonworked hard to present the annual Christmas and Spring concerts. Theseconcertshave always gone over with huge success. The band students heard Robert Lowry, a clarinetist from Sioux City at the annual band clinic held in Vermillion. A party held after the Christmas concert was enjoyed bythe bandstudents and the rest of the student body skating party,wh1ch was enjoyed by band students alone was held at boat basin The band also took part in music contest at Vermillion, the dist riot tournament band and the Spring Music Festival at Springfield Several small ensembles have been derived from the band a horn quartet consisting of Kathryn Louwerse, Joseph Gilreath, Marie Gemar, and Judy Paul' song a cornet trio presented by Joan Jansen, Harvey Holleman, and Mary Pat Paulson: a clarinet trio by Arlis Bos- chma, Jackie Paulson,and Barbara Horn- strag and solos by Arlis Boschma onher clarinet and Paul Sandvick on his bass horn. the the the u A9 X09 QL, A .
