The teacher and his pupils use no single text and they disregard sharp subjer-t-niatter lines. lnsteud of emphasis on memorization of minute facts. the pupil is concerned with learning how to think and solve problems that apply to his daily life. L TSpringfield has up-to-date equipment to prepare students for clerical work. bookkeep- ing. stenography. and secretarial positions. Students learn business subjects. the use of business machines. and the fundamentals of a business office. Main objective of this course is to graduate students capable of going directly into jobs in commercial fields. T Preparing students to face future problems is the basic and vital function of the mathe- matics department. High school mathematics is the foundation for college math. Students are taught through mathematics to think logi- cally, so that when they are confronted with lifeis situations, they will be able to solve their problems with sound reasoning. TThe physical education program guides students in physical activities. so that they may appreciate sports and group participation. It develops leadership and good sportsmanship. ln connection with physical educa' tion is health. a part of our academic program. Physical Education teachers coach all inter-school sports activities.
