Sports Aching muscles, long practices and strenuous workouts were all part of being an athlete, Dreams of glory from winning an event were often shattered when the reality of defeat occured, but a good athlete learned to accept it and learn from competition. Girls' sports never received as many spectators as the boys did, but several good female athletes were involved in sports events. The honors, awards, letters or even the applause and cheering of the spectators was enough to keep Central's athletes working hard to improve at their sport and win forCHS.
