9 Q-' Cznffdfd Java . . . EVERYONE HELPS . . . New faculty members welcome the friendly help of experienced teachers. Here Mr. Joseph Moffitt stops to talk to fellow mathematics teacher, Mr. Ray Burrell. lt has been said that no school is better than its teachers. At Central, teachers are proud of their professional preparation and of the standards of teaching and professional ethics which they represent. CentraI's teachers are people who are busy preparing for and teaching their classes. Often they go home at night with the ever present stack of papers under the arm to be graded. To improve their qualifications and teaching techniques, many teachers attend extension courses at night and summer school. ' Central's teachers try to put the welfare of the student first in their work and make an effort to help every student. Besides their class work, teachers spend many after school hours working with students in extra curricular activities. ln addition to their work at school, fac- ulty members are valuable community work- ers. Several teachers teach adult courses at night and courses at the colleges during the summer. They take part in church work and they assume their share of civic respon- sibilities in this All-American city.
