There the sun beat down, but the energetic girls didnt seem to mind for they were too interested in their games of volleyball, softball, and deck tennis, The highlight of the year for the Physical Education Department was the assembly entitled, Search for Happiness , which was presented April l7, A number of dances were performed by girls from all physical education classes. The dances included acrobatics. calisthenics, tumbling, and active sports. Colorful costumes that added effectively to the gaiety of the program were made by the girls. The performance was also given to parents after a Parent-Teacher Association meeting Miss Emily C Armstrong, head of the department, and Miss Violet Conard directed the production Connected with this department is the health course which is a two-year requirement. In this class, girls learn the function and care of the body and receive helpful beauty hints, RECEIVING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THEIR GYM WORK are the girls in Miss Emily Armstrongs sixth hour class. shown at upper left, Upper right---Getting the benefit of sunshine while they practice one uf their many exercises are Dana Webb, jackie Light, and loan Maples.
