'jx-4 M , my many NCE. upon a time ln the Land of Some Q3 Q where there llved the queerest mortal dui- you ever saw Hrs head was small he was green m color and hls eyes stood wlde open m wonder at everything he saw Thls animal was part man and part Freshman His friends called hlm Freshle One day before he had become a Fresh man a fairy spoke unto hlm saying You are about to start on a Journey which you should complete ln four years There will be many stumbllng blocks snares and pitfalls along your path Others will take thus same tnp but they can gxve you nothing but sympathy Your help must come from the sprltes who will watch over you and you must wm thexr favor by Hattery smlles and bonbons Thus hav mg spoken the faxry disappeared So on the thlrd day of the ninth month of the year Freshxe arose at the seventh hour and started out But scarcely had he left home when he stumbled on a great pile of prmted maternal Thls was dlvlded mto four parts called books Durmg his whole trlp Freshxe trled to get nd of them but every time he would lay them down they would jump back mto his arms Freshle had picked up the books and started on when lol there arose before hxm a huge mountain on the side of whlch were emblazon ed the words, First Year Latin For a whole year he struggled through the many rough places of this barrler but finally by the ald of the llttle Crafllg he was able to pass over lt Beslcles the Mountam of Latin there were other places to pass such as the famous Alge Y E 'Xlfx an I 'Y' KW qqtiffv 1, 'tx.,.?. braxc lceberg the uxck Sands of Engllsh and the Mammoth History Cave When Freshle fmally landed safely on the other side of these places he saw what seemed to hlm a Utopia At the entrance to thns place there was a sign which was wrltten Three Months Vacatron He ran toward It hls heart fluttering but no sooner had he en tered than he felt something tuggmg at hrs sleeve He turned and saw at hls feet a plle of books He tried not to notlce them but every trme he looked away they would cry School s begun!
