Paul reads a letter from their adopted orphan girl in Ger- many, while all listen attentively. 26.2 TO CREATE, MAINTAIN, AND EX- TEND throughout the school and community, high standards of Christian character is the purpose of the Hi-Y club, under the direction of Mr. Frank Priester, adviser. Refreshments were provided after games by the Hi-Y to all participants in football and bas- ketball, Sponsoring of the Danceland at the carnival and selling programs during football season were other activities of the club. Outstanding among activities was the elec- tion of Sherman Everett National I-Ii-Y cong- ress in Washington, D.C. during June and July for the Youth Government Assembly. At these functions the girls wear standard uniforms of blue and white, the school colors. During the current school year, 40 members have participated in the activi- ties of the Caterette Club. It also contributes help at all home athletic events, and this year has organized a school fire department, which helps at all fire and civil defense drills. The club consists of 48 members, all of whom have earned their letters by participating the re- quired time in a major sport. The officers of the club, under the supervision of john Young, are Richard Nielsen, president, Don Rose, vice- president, Don Brown, secretary-treasurer, Floyd Burright, Joe Duncan, and Ted McCarthy, sergeants-at-arms.
