SHS Students Visit the Historical East. :Q-3.9, 'X X. There's always time for gossip. The 1969 Washington-New York trip started with a bus trip to Dulles Airport in Peoria on June 8. The three brave chaperones and forty juniors spent three days in New York touring such famous sites as Manhattan Island, Statue of Liberty, United Nations, and the Lincoln Center. Evenings were spent at the Radio City Music Hall and various theaters. Four days followed in Washing- ton, D. C. where there was an un- scheduled but fascinating presen- tation by the Third Infantry and the Army Band at the Jefferson Me- morial. The F.B.l., the Kennedy graves in Arlington Cemetery, the Smithsonian Institute, and Annapo- lis were some of the other high- lights of the trip. The weary travelers returned seven days later loaded with many memories and souvenirs of a won- derful trip. Miss Mitchell enjoys a moment of rest New York Skyline. 20
