The Choral Department's Christmas Assembly. It's a bird! it's a plane! it'S spiderlad I A year of interesting and hum- orous assemblies got off to a great start with the Spider Lady, Anne Moreton. Then, the student body had the privilege of hearing Mr. Fred Lowrie, the Whistler. As a new year rolled around, the students viewed the presentation of a short play by a group of students from Illinois College in Jacksonville. The play was on the general topic of mental health. On March 4, the Drama Club presented a portion of their play, You Can't Take It With You. So as another school year came to a close, S.H.S. students were well informed on raising spiders, whistling, and maintaining good mental health. Freshmen won a place in the heart of s. .s. For the first time in 10 years, Freshmen again attended Spring- field High School. They were faced with the task of remembering their locker combinations, room num- bers and their teachers' names. Swarms of the little ones con- Class of '73 suffered not only verbal cruci- fixion from the seniors, but also felt the pain of T.B. tests. 28 gregated in the cafeteria during the early hours and were unleashed at 10:30 to begin their day of classes. Despite constant heckling from the upperclassmen, Freshmen have become an accepted part of Springfield High School. Freshmen are caught red-handed, stealing term papers from Senior lockers, Lost freshmen are led by the hand to the gym - - that's g-y-m, little ones!
