Although Mr. Guy Krummel is no longer with SHS as an instructor, his spirit and his ideals will always be remembered by those he taught and those he knew. Known to his students as The Admiral, Mr. Krummel's classes were something to look forward to every day. Whether in mathematics or physics, a student had to be always on the alert if he wanted to keep from entertaining the rest of the students at his own expense. An enjoyable time came when Mr. Krummel gave a practical demonstration of a mathematics or physics theory, or when, during a break in class routine, he told of his colorful experiences in the Navy. These stories, plus his briny temper, earned Mr. Krummel the title The Admiral. A person with whom teaching came foremost, and with whom all else was secondary, Mr. Krummel exerted himself to aid his students in their struggles with recalcitrant problems or was there to help when the work became discouraging. Willing to give his time in order that his students might progress, Mr. Krumme' could often be seen before and after school helping the students who came to him. His standards were high but fair. His students did not question them, nor had they reason to. While teaching at SHS, Mr. Krummel was not only inter ested in giving his best to his students as a math or physics instruc tor, but he also put forth his efforts to aid in school activities sucl as Wranglers, of which he was the advisor, and National Honol Society Committee, of which he was the chairman. To Mr. Guy Krummel we, the Capitoline staff of 1958, sin cerely dedicate this book. WMM vac-..,.f2Ws as 6
