Shui? 445 lb 1 - T' C' To publish a yearbook is not easy, but through smiles and tears this year's Staff has had a lot of fun. Last summer our Staff started the prelimi- nary steps in designing the l957 Cap- itoline. After deciding the nature of the theme, the Art Editors drew the sketches and lettering. By the time school started, under the guidance of our advisor, Miss Ashinhust, we had started putting together the dummy yearbook-organizing pages, mea- suring margins, planning pictures, and applying new features. ln October, several members of the Staff attended the Yearbook Conference in Cham- paign and returned with many new and different ideas. November, De- cember and January were spent in ar- ranging picture appointments, taking pictures, identifying pictures, cutting, pasting and mounting pictures. By the end of January the dummy was be- ginning to look like a yearbook. ln February the Subscription Drive closed with l2OO orders for the l957 Capi- toline. March came and the Editors were writing copy, rewriting copy, and typing. April brought us to the print- ers, and the end was in sight! Copy designing, copying, and proofreading, and then the first copy of the I957 Capitoline was off the press. We hope that we have given to you a book of memories of the schoolyear i956-57 at SHS. We are indebted to our Ad- visor, to Mr. Furry, to our parents, and to numerous others who helped make the l957 Capitoline a success.
