ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL JOHN TURNER lO PRINCIPAL This has been a pleasant year as far as student-faculty relationships are concerned. The Student Council and Senior Class have set a good ex- ample in school citizenship. The Student Council has worked with in- stead of against the school adminis- tration. Student activities have been numerous and more careful planning has resulted in less friction and bet- ter results. Next year the transition to a sen- ior high school begins. Our fresh- man class will drop from our present 500 to a little over ZOO. The deci- sion of the Board of Education not to use Old Central as a junior high will enable the eighth graders in Cot- tage Hill, Douglas, Dubois and Hay- Edwards to attend SHS next fall. Per- haps by the following year the two new junior high schools will be com- pleted on the west side and our tran- sition to a senior high status will be complete. ROBERT FURRY
