MA ENGLISH DEPARTMENT OFFERS SOPHOMORES DRAMATIZE SHORT PLAYS The English department of Springfield High School is trying to meet the needs of students in the basic skills of reading, speaking, listening and writing. Students are taught tongather reliable infor- mation, to find facts, to think clearly, to work cooperatively, as . well as to build a sense of values that are true and less materialistic than those they would pick up without training. These are hard lessons to learn, but vital. Basic goals are set up for each semester from 91 through nine- teen successive courses.
