' 1 ,- f I Q10 THE PROPHECY OF THE CLASS OF 55 Year: 1975 Time: Mid-afternoon Objective: A 10-day cruise aboard the U.S.S. Spartana Entering the offices of the SHORT SUBLETT Agen- cy, CNORMA and PHYLLIS respectivelyb we are attracted by the long line of distinguished-looking persons waiting to purchase tickets. At the end of said line, JIM and JUNE QWILLIAMSD COCHRAN, with all the little Cochrans, MY RNA DENNISON, her husband and their four sons, and WILMA and WILDA STEVENS, each with her own set of twins, turn to greet us, Snappy service furnished by the ticket-selling HOOV- ERS, KATHERINE and JOE, enable us to soon pass through the gates leading toward the ship, where we note, much to our surprise, that the customs agents inspecting passengers' luggage are our own JOE WEICHT and DAVE STRINGER. Waiting to have their baggage cleared are CHARLOTTE LANGE, GLADYS JEN- NINGS, BETTY HOOD, DEANNA MacLARREN, AR- LENE ROSIER, BEVERLY SMITH, and SHIRLEY STEVENSON just returning from a guided tour of Up- per Elleteenia, conducted by his honor, the Mayor of New York City, ROBERT JOHNSON. Boarding the liner immediately in front of us is that handsome foreign diplomat, STANLEY GILBERT, accom- panied by his confidential secretaries DORCAS ROSSI- TER, MIRIAM DETTLING, and MARLENE COTTRELL and his goodwill ambassadors IRENE KANIS, RUTH GLASS, SUZANNE WEYRICK, BARBARA BROWN, and JOANNE NICKLAS. Waiting at the top of the gangplank to interview them are those award-winning re- porters, NANCY BRADLEY and FRANCES HESKETT, with ace photographer, BOB TREEN. Captain RAY HOHLBAUGH welcomes us aboard while pursers GLENN SIBERT and HARRY BUTLER check in our valuables. Stewards BOB WILLINGHAM, FRED FORD, and KENNY SAYRE are so busy assisting passengers to their staterooms that they don't even see us. Wandering toward the lounge, we see ROY BELL, designer of The Cozy Curvy-Contour Chair, displaying his product to ARNOLD BIAS and LEE RABER. JOANN REED, SHIRLEY JOSEPH, and MARTHA KOVACS, winners of the 31,000,000 cruise sponsored by the Cotton- worth'Company, seem quite interested in the demonstra- tion. ,Unexpecte-dly, our observations are interrupted by the loudspeaker, PAT AYRES, summoning us to the ra- dioroom where the teletypist, MARGARET ENGLE, pre- sents us with a bon-voyage message from JOHN BAILEY who is piloting DON MACE'S new rocketless jet, and promises to meet us when we dock. Returning to the deck we encounter the U. S. Olym- pic Team, accompanied by coaches, LARRY BRINKLEY and DICK KING. BUSTER HILMANDOLAR, DICK WALTON, TOM PURSLEY, LONNIE MASSEY, BOB HEFFERNAN, and GENE BOURN are among those go- ing to compete in the contest at Iknisleh, Fieldgoal. Leav- ing the boys with our best wishes, we turn through the door at our right, where we notice a spacious, pear-shaped swimming pool, in which mermaids DORCAS TODD, ANN SCHROCK, and DEANNA WHITE are paddling about. JOAN RUTHERFORD, LORA ULBRICH, and LINDA PRICE, gathered about to watch them, are doing their best to avoid being splashed. Again the loud speaker interrupts. An S. O, S. call from a ship to our starboard sends crewmen JERRY JOHNSON,-KENNETH CATLETTE, BILL CROGHAN, and HARRY TRESSEL, dashing to the rail. They spy familiar-looking persons approaching in a lifeboat. As the craft draws nearer, we recognize detective WILBUR DEPUE, the notable BARBARA SUMMERTON, who re- cently discovered a new wonder formula Cthough as yet no one has discovered what it is wonderful forjg that no- torious philosopher, CLAUDETTE DYKES, and award- winning author GAYLORD KIRKBRIDE, with his ever present ghost-writers RUSSELL MILLER, KENNY LEIF- HEIT, and VERNON LARGE. Grasping the sides of a second lifeboat is architect ROBERT LEE with his assistants. LARRY THURSTON, BILL DOTSON, and FAURE SCOTT, who are headed for Bali-Lo to build a monastery where missionaries NINA FILLIAN, VERA LEA MIHALY, JOHN CLIFFORD, ROBERTA ROOP, BERNARD JACOBS, and RUBY WOOD are planning to establish a new religious order. Lending courage to the crisis is BRUCE REICHEN- BACH, who through it all, continues calmly to strum on his guitar as he sings Down in the Bottom of the Wellf, Spinning into action as the vessel approaches, sailors JOHN ABBOTT, LEONARD BOSO, RONALD WOOD, BILL KELLY, and DON MCCOY enthusiastically assist the survivors aboard. But look! Off in the distance, clinging to a log and riding the waves, still the Johnny-come-lately, BOYD WILLISON. First-mate RICHARD STIFF escorts the survivors to sick-bay where Doctor DAVE SEWELL and Nurse VIVIAN THORNHILL administer necessary aid. Destined for France where they will attend an in- ter-spacial teachers convention are history professor, JUNE HORN, primary teachers CAROL GLOYD and PATTY BOLINGER, and English teacher DAWN STEFFEE. Also aboard ship is that famous hair stylist DELORIS BROWN, who has been invited to demonstrate her new coiffures before the crown heads of Europe. MARY MONDELLO, LILA BORING, NANCI HUMISTON, and ELAINE ANDRICK are serving as her models. DAN and DAL WOLFORD and GLEN CUTLIP are along, too, to provide the male answer to the Italian cut, Suddenly, half a dozen miniature cars whizz by. Try- ing to catch them are car-sharks DON HELD, RONALD HENGELI, FRED HERTZOG, BOB MCMULLEN, and RONALD VINCENT destined for the tri-annual foreign sports car sales convention at Hot Coils, Jagaway. At the sound of the dinner bell, we enter the dining room now famous for the cuisine of chef STARLEY SMITH. While eating our meal, the designer who re- placed Dior, Madame BARBARA KING, reveals her latest creations as modeled by JOAN JOHNSON, HELEN HARSH, ROBERTA HENGELI, ANNETTE BAKER, CAROL PROUDFOOT, and SANDRA ZEHNER. Finishing dinner, we make our way to the ballroom where RONNIE SNYDER, master of ceremonies, is in- ! :lg J QQ 'QS 4 5 OI 7 I jg I 'asf' I -...Q Re' troducing those triple-treat mambo madcats KATHRYN THOMPSON, WANDA SPENCER, ANITA AGA- RAND, MARGIE HARRIS, and DELLA FOCKLER. The Zena-sounding quartet composed of DON EARLEN- BAUGH, KATHRYN CUTLIP, CARL CLAY, and TRE- VA EDGELL are followed by the Three-Tango-Tillies, JACKI MELLER, VIRGINIA SHULTZ, and RUTH FIKE. Comedian JOHNNY CRUTCHFIELD, Bop-boo- gie-blue JUNE BROTHERTON, and CORABELLE JACKSON, and her teethless ground hogs, complete the program. As we .head back for out stateroom, we notice KATH- RYN DIRRIG and PAT HACKATHORN propped on deck-chairs busily taking notes on everyone who passes. BARBARA SCHLEMMER, HARRIET IHNOT, and MARGIE GRIFFIN are offering their comments. Steadying themselves against the rail are FRANCES MILLER, NORMA HOLMES, JUANITA HEADLEY, and BETTY BAKER who appear to be swaying more than the ship. They seem terribly pleased at the approach of DOTTY BERGER and MARY DOBBINS, who have been busy distributing DANIEL BRADLEY'S chocolate-cover- ed, 'lTrembling Tummy Tidbits. As the Sandman's bell halts all activity, we retire to Dreamland. Who knows what surprising pleasures to- morrow may hold? BSBAASQXLSLAXLXY Sixxxlzauigxsizexifm ,i . A fl if A l it ir!!
