d Girl's All S orts Award recipient Linda Castillon gladly accepts her award Coach Hyde presents Bill Berberich with the Boy's All Sports Awar . p Athletic anquet The Awards Banquet this year was a tremendous success. Proud parents accompanied their athletically gifted children to Saint Agnes Cafeteria for a dinner and the annual recognition of our outstanding Varsity Athletes. Girl's Awards were presented by Coach Henderson. She was later congratulated for her time and patience through a gift presented by jan Bramer from all the girls. Coach Hyde awarded the Football p1ayers,.Jack Dougang Track and Cross Country, Brother johng Basketball, and Colleen Harris acknowledged the Cheerleaders for their performances. Finishing the evening was the presentation of the All Sports Award to the male and female athlete most worthy of the title. Congratulations to all!!! , ,f 1 y 1 , , , 8 if ? ' '5 gy ,Z f ,W ' , ' Z f , 'Par . ,.,... - With numerous awards presented applause became more popular than Mrs. Harris presents Julie Wissbaum with her certificate for Varsity Cheerleading eating- Captain! Spanish Club The Spanish Club with its advisor, Mrs. Christine Smith-Gillespie, and officersg President, Sarah Nixon, Vice-President, Nancy Robinson, and Secretary-Treasurer, Rocco Vienhage, had several activities displaying Spanish spirit. Three major events highlighted the Spanish Club's first year back after two year's absence. At the beginning of the first semester the organization started work on constructing a float which appeared in the Springfield Christmas Parade. During the second semester the club held a Spanish Speaking Day on which all the members of the organization could only speak Spanish during school hours. The Spanish Club also sponsored a Spanish Dinner and Dance for the parents. Mrs. Smith-Gillespie wonders why so many Gring0S afe in Spanish Club! The taco eating contest proved to be fulFILLING for those who took part. f Mrs. Smith-Gillespie and Steve Sullivan provide entertainment for a Spanish club meeting. Sophomore girls realize that stuffing tacos can be Great Fun!! 33
