DEDICATION Mlss ANGELINE SOBER This year the co-editors proudly dedicate the 1956 ELECTRA to Miss Angeline Sober, a faculty member of high standing. After Miss Sober had graduated from Leechburg High School, she attended Indiana State Teachers College and later the Uni- versity of Pittsburgh. The degrees that she has attained are the Bachelor of Science and Master of Education. In connection with her own education, she made a trip to Europe in 1954. This was made possible for her through the Frick Education Commission for which she wrote an account of her journey. Miss Sober's unusual knowledge of history has often helped her Junior English students associate literary and historical periods. A particular favorite of hers is the history of her hometown and neighboring areas. As a member of the Historical Society of Western Pennsylvania, she has not only gained inter- esting information but has contributed histor- ical facts as well. For example she helped the society's map makers sketch Pennsylvanian Indian Trails by her possession of a map of her farm with the Indian Trails on it. She is also regent Qpresidentj and geneology chairman of the Fort Hand Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution. In addition to history, she likes to collect books and old china and furniture. She lives with her charming mother in a lovely white house set back in the trees on Marion Avenue just a block from the high school. To Miss Sober school work comes first, whether it be curricular or extra curricular. Often she was seen to remain late after school helping students catch up. She displayed remarkable casting ability and directing as sponsor of the junior Class Plays and led the girls of the Junior Tri-Hi-Y through busy successful years. Miss Sober has seen and aided the educa- tional development of Springdale to a great extent. At one time she was sponsor of this self-same book. So from now on this ELEC- TRA of 1956 shall bear to this true teacher a token of the memory of her successful years.
