HISTORY OF ATHLETICS The history of Athletics in the IIigh School of Spring Valley dates lmaek to 1905, when some of the live young men banded together to put Spring Valley on the Illtlp. A basket ball team was organized, with F. Stever eenter, F. Houck and INI. Emerson forwards, and A. Mclfernon and F. hloore guards. A fast and furious team was developed, and in 1906 they joined the Fierce and St. Croix County interscholastic athletic league. By 1906 everything was running smoothly and a. good team was also turned out, with T. Flesher center, R. Churchill and II. Parker forwards and G. Deck and Il. Condit guards. 1907 was a banner year. Fiedler, short stop: t'ondit and Stein, 3rd base: Kellner, center field: Il. f'hurchill, right field: ll. t'hurehill, left field. In 1908 a team, worthy of mention. was scrapping for Spring Valley. The honoralrle members were: Churehill center, Fiedler and Deck forwards, Uondit and ltlefaim guards. Due to many disadvantages, basket hall was short-lived in 1909. Those representing the team were: Seeley eenter, 1Valler and Bauer for- wards, Condit and Davis guards. In 1910 a team was developed that did credit to the IIigh School and is not to he forgotten. lts victories were due to the fast work of
