The ' 72- ' 73 year for S.L. ' s band is a happy and sad one. The band received their long awaited and hard earned uniforms. They are, how- ever losing Mr. L. Middlebrook. Through- out the years that Mr. Middlebrook has been here he has done a fantastic job. Bringing home superior ratings from innu- merable solo and ensemble festivals and district and state band festivals. His skill and attitude involving music has encour- aged many elementary and high school students. Both Mr. Van Dyke and Mr. Middle- brook bring pride and honor to S.L.H.S. Wet Is the three letter word for Homecoming this year. Although it was a beautiful Friday night for the bonfire, which the Seniors and sophomores won, Saturday and the rest of the weekend was disappointing.
