Mel ' s Angels Over the hill and down the path rolled the Laker Cross Country team. Under the leadership of senior captain Ken Zimmerman, the team compiled a 12-1 re- cord winning the Seaway Conference title by taking four of the first five places. Laker foes had a bad year as Spring Lake wenr to the feared Texas Wishbone at- tack and a stubborn defense that was second in the league. Under the direction of Var- sity Coach, Mr. Tom Hickman, and his able assistants, Mr. Tom Grabinski and Mr. Larry Aldridge, the Lakers rolled to a 7-2 record overall and second in the Seaway.
